Established in 1965, the Midwest Cricket Conference (MCC) is a fully insured, non-profit sporting body and a proud, long-standing member of USA Cricket, the USA National Governing Body of Cricket. Comprising teams from Chicago and its suburban areas, as well as clubs from Peoria, Milwaukee, Madison, and St. Louis, the MCC was formed to organize and promote the sport of cricket in the Midwest. Originally a British import, cricket in the Midwest, as in much of the United States, is predominantly played by enthusiasts from the Caribbean and the Asian subcontinent. The MCC's diverse membership includes doctors, engineers, students, IT professionals, cab drivers, and businessmen, all of whom spend their summer weekends at Washington Park indulging in their favorite pastime. For many, cricket is more than just a sport; it's a beloved tradition and a way to stay connected to their heritage.

In the past five years, cricket in the Midwest has seen remarkable growth. From just 12 teams in 1995, the league has expanded to over 47 teams by the 2004 season, reflecting the increasing popularity and participation in the sport. The MCC not only provides a platform for passionate cricketers, weekend warriors, and ageless enthusiasts to play the game they love but also strives to introduce cricket to local communities and youth, nurturing a new generation of players. Cricket faces stiff competition in this sports-crazy city and country, but the MCC remains dedicated to fostering a love for the game and creating a vibrant cricketing community in the Midwest.
